Indiegogo hires Reddit’s Andy Yang as new CEO

Indiegogo has a brand-new manager. Andy Yang will take over for outgoing CEO David Mandelbrot who is stepping down. According to beginnings close to the company, several other Indiegogo employees are also leaving. Indiegogo has yet to confirm this claim or mood the count or intellect for their departure.

Mandelbrot announced the move on LinkedIn, quoting “personal reasons” as the reason he’s leaving. He was at Indiegogo for six years starting as SVP of Operation in August of 2013.

Andy Yang comes to Indiegogo from Reddit where he was most recently guiding its concoction squad. He was previously the CEO of 500 px.

Yang comes to Indiegogo at a critical time for the company. Consumers are increasingly becoming jaded by crowdfunding projects that leave benefactors without their predicted make. Under Mandelbrot’s leadership, he cured Indiegogo net various important partner including General Electric and Lego. The companionship also enlisted the help of several creating and sell professionals to help benefactors stimulate campaigns into products.

TechCrunch requested an interview with Yang, but has yet to be granted that request.
